Though her role isn't the biggest in the show, Shubitz is the actor who makes the largest impression. She was wonderful
in last season's "Nine," and she's just as good here as a meek woman who is slowly discovering her inner strength. She is
spontaneous and natural; there are moments in the show when the character giggles, and you'd swear the actress is genuinely
laughing. It never feels forced.
She is blessed with a gorgeous singing voice, and she turns a musical recollection about Hannah's son leaving for Vietnam
into a heartbreaker. The actress really displays her mastery during a moment in which Percy opens up and spills the big secret
she has been hiding. The scene is deeply affecting, but not for obvious reasons: Rather than responding to Percy, the audience
takes its cue from Shelby, and it is her reactions that make the audience feel the pain and horror being described. Shubitz
is marvelous throughout, but here she is simply magnificent. ~Randy Cordova, The Arizona Republic
